//Kabbo Houseboat and Wildlife Spectacular
- Day 1:
- Okavango Delta
Upon arrival in Maun, you are met by a representative and will be transferred by motor-vehicle to //Kabbo Houseboat on the Okavango Panhandle. This birding mecca forms part of the permanent Delta.
(L, D) - Day 2:
- Okavango Delta Panhandle
We explore the crystal clear channels of the Okavango Delta by motorboat, picnic lunch. Return to //Kabbo for the evening meal.
(B, L, D) - Day 3:
- Tsodilo Hills
Today we drive to close by Tsodilo Hills. This area is hailed as one of Africa's richest San Painting sites and has rightly been allocated World heritage Status. Morning and Afternoon walks along beautiful hills.
(B, L, D) - Day 4:
- Livingstone, Zambia
A short drive to Mohembo Border Post and then onwards to the town of Livingstone in Zambia. Afternoon at leisure for optional activities.
Overnight Waterfront Hotel (B,L). Victoria Falls entry not included in tour. - Day 5:
- Livingstone, Zambia
Full day at leisure for optional activities (guests own expense). Overnight Zambezi Waterfront (B). Victoria Falls entry not included in tour. - Day 6:
- Chobe National Park
Depart Livingstone by road transfer (08h30), border crossing to Botswana. Guide will assist with drinks purchase in Kasane and then drive to our campsite near Chobe River.
(B,D, Camping) - Day 7:
- Serondella area, Chobe National Park
We travel north to the mighty Chobe River which attracts large herds of big game, such as elephant and buffalo. Other species such as hippo, giraffe and kudu also occur in large numbers.
(B, L, D, Camping) - Day 8:
- Savuti, Chobe National Park
We travel via the Mababe depression to Savuti. We camp along the dry Savuti channel and explore the area extensively by vehicle. Savuti is well known for its healthy populations of Bull elephants.
(B, L, D, Camping) - Day 9:
- North Gate, Moremi Game Reserve
We take a leisurely drive to our campsite in the Khwai area of Moremi Game reserve. This area's diversity of game is astounding and the reserve has been hailed one of the best in the world. Afternoon game drive and overnight camping Moremi.
(B, L, D, Camping) - Day 10:
- North Gate, Moremi Game Reserve
Today is spent on early morning and afternoon game drives. There is of course, that obligatory siesta during the hottest part of the day.
(B, L, D, Camping) - Day 11:
- Xaxakana, Moremi Game Reserve
We travel by road to Xaxanaka which forms part of the permanent Delta. The area boasts some of the best game sightings in Botswana. Game viewing is done along the waterways and floodplains. Species such as giraffe, Zebra and wildebeest are but a few that occur here. Overnight in the Xakanaxa area.
(B, L, D, Camping) - Day 12:
- Xaxakana, Moremi Game Reserve
We start with a light breakfast in the early hours of the morning, heading out as it starts to get light. The drive normally lasts until about 10:30 am. Thereafter, brunch is served and everyone takes the opportunity to have a siesta throughout the heat of the day. As the air starts to cool towards late afternoon, we embark on our afternoon game drive.
(B, L, D, Camping) - Day 13:
- We leave the Xaxanaka Area for a drive back to Maun, our starting point thirteen days earlier. Arrangements end in Maun (B)
While we endeavour to ensure the itinerary runs as advertised, Wilderness Dawning reserves the right to change this due to unforseen circumstances or external influences.
DEPARTURE POINT IS MAUN AIRPORT. Guests are required to be at the arrivals area at 11h30 on day 1.
